New beginnings

We have been busy since selling our home in North Carolina and relocating to Florida.

We’ve been to Englewood beach a couple of times.

One evening while we were there watching the sunset a storm rolled in. Beautiful sunset to the west. Beautiful thunderstorm to the east. We kept swimming.

We’ve been able to spend time with some of Suzie’s family too:

Nannie

Uncle Frank

Cousins

We got to visit our dog SweeTea on her 11th birthday. She was adopted by Suzie’s cousins and is living happily ever after with them here in Florida.

We celebrated Jeshuah’s 20th birthday. He opted for birthday cookies instead of a birthday cake.

The highway 41 bridge connects Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda and is a favorite walking bridge. We walked across the other day at sunset.

Sunset with a storm rolling in……

Gilchrist park is near the south end of the bridge along the water in Punta Gorda. Jeremiah took a break in this huge compass.

We’ve been getting in a lot of bike riding. The roads are flat and straight which makes it rather enjoyable, unless you take a tumble and get roadrash on your hand!! (Jeshuah lost a battle with a trash can that was beside the road).

Last night we attended a major league baseball game. We went to Tropicana Field in Tampa to watch the Rays. Kyrah, Audrah and Jed wore Rays gear.

They have a 10,000 gallon stingray petting pool inside the stadium.

We sat on the right-field side of the stadium.

Even caught Jedidiah on the big screen trying to get an autograph. Jed’s in the purple shirt wearing a TB ball cap at the  left of #39. He was trying to get Bauers’ autograph on a photo of himself and Bauers that was taken at a Durham Bulls game in 2017 when his 8u team was invited to meet with the Bulls.

We have gotten our Florida residency all taken care of:  license plates, auto insurance, driver’s licenses, voting registration, address changes etc. (Note to all – The FL drivers license office is much faster and customer service friendly than any we went to in NC).

Next on our list is to get a travel vehicle. We are shopping around.

We’re not in too much of a hurry, we are enjoying ourselves and our slower paced life.

Feel free to leave a comment and say hello.
