Bel Air, Maryland

September 14-18

Friday we left DC and drove north into Maryland. Jeshuah, Jeremiah, Audrah and Jedidiah had a Ninja competition over the weekend.

We spent Saturday morning and early afternoon checking out a few state parks. Competition didn’t begin until 5:45 pm.

Rocks State Park

Some folks walking the trail told us about Kilgore Falls not too far away so we headed over there. It was a great suggestion!!

The water was cold. Donald, Jeshuah, Josiah and Jedidiah went swimming.

Jeremiah climbed rocks

The competition was held at Kinetic Ninja Warrior in Bel Air, Maryland. It was very well run and very efficient and a lot of fun for the competitors.

If you live near here, it is well worth your time to check them out!!

The owners graciously allowed us to park behind the gym and spent time pouring into our family (thanks Mr. Scott and Mrs. Paula!!).

Jeshuah competed that evening in the pro men’s category and placed 2nd. That means he is qualified to compete in the World Finals being held in Connecticut in February 2019.

Jedidiah competed at noon the following day in the 9-10 year old age group and didn’t place in the top three (which is who gets to be qualified to go to World Finals). But the boy who placed first was already qualified from a previous competition; therefore, the fourth place person gets the qualification. That went to Jedidiah. (0:

Audrah competed at 3:00pm in the 11-12 girls bracket. She didn’t place but she did have fun.

Jeremiah at 6:00pm. He placed 2nd in the 16-17 year old male group. Since he placed second, he too, is qualified for World Finals. So three out of four is pretty good.

Here is his run:

We hung around a couple extra days for two reasons: Florence the hurricane…no longer a hurricane but a wet storm. We didn’t want to drive right into it and the second reason, phones. We didn’t have enough hot spot with the one phone and Jetpack that we have. So we got new phones from the Verizon store and wanted to hang around in the area until we were sure the phones transferred properly before heading to the next town.
