Got his first deer…..

So, we are back in Rocky Mount NC because the title to our van was sent to the dealership here (per our request…instead of sending to our address in Florida).

Picked it up last night and Donald and Jeremiah left around 9pm to drive to the nearest DMV office across the Florida state line.

Jeremiah was driving around 2am in South Carolina on I-95 and saw a buck deer walking across the road so he started slowing down. The deer had already crossed Jeremiah’s lane and was in the other lane headed away from them and then decided to turn around and run smack in front of the van!! Thankfully they were only going about 15-20 mph when they hit!

They went ahead and finished the drive to Florida. They made it to the DMV office in Fernandina Beach FL a bit before the office opened (Donald wanted to go to the nearest DMV office across the Florida border). They found out when they got in that the paperwork from the dealership was not in order and they could NOT do the title. So they had to drive all the way back.

So, now we have a broken van and no permanent tags.

Donald went directly to the dealership and they are going to take care of getting the tag and getting it to us so there will not have to be another drive to Florida for them.

Meanwhile, we have to put the van in the shop so it looks like we’ll be in Rocky Mount for a little while.

But, part of this mindset for this trip was to roll with whatever God sent our way.
