Living in a motor home- all 8 of us

October 27, 2018

Things we are learning as we live in our 400 square foot motor home:

Grocery shopping every 2-3 days as opposed to our once a week pattern when we lived at the farm. Whatever we buy has to fit in the fridge, freezer or pantry.

Laundry collects for 3-4 days before getting washed as opposed to a load or two a day in our past life. The shower is our current laundry collection center.

Learning how to use apps and google to find the best routes for a 12-foot tall vehicle. We have to be mindful of getting in and out of parking lots.

Stacking things in the fridge is a puzzle that often has to be undone to get the item on the very bottom.

Remembering where we stored stuff…was it in here or over there?

Conserving water since we usually are depending on the water we are carrying in our tanks (unless we are hooked up at a campground).

There are stores and restaurants that allow overnight parking…..you just have to know how to find them. (0: (yes, there are even phone apps for this!!)

We all cannot brush our teeth at the same time.

  1. My Aunt Norma and Uncle Bill did the snowbird life in a motor for a while. She never could understand how she could lose stuff in such a small area. And that was only with 2 people! Can’t imagine keeping track of 8 people’s stuff.

  2. Enjoying all your posts. All of your family and friends are, no doubt, enjoying traveling along with you via your blog. Some of your Motor Home Living challenges are similar to ours and we live in a medium sized regular house! 🙂 Praying for safety and success in finding those stores and restaurants that will let you park in their lots! ((hugs)) to all eight of you! Love you, Grandma Jo & Granddad Tim <3
