Busy day in Houston

December 5, 2018

We drove into Houston again.

We started at the Health Museum.

We got to see and touch a dissected cow’s eye and sheep’s heart.

There were brain teaser tables in the center hall.

Large displays describing how different organs work.

This heart display actually had a “heart attack” every 20 minutes.

Donald leaning on a colon.

Scream room. It measures your scream in decibels.

We finished there and had time to do the aquarium a few miles away. The parking lot is right under a bridge.

Morey Eel

Inside out jellyfish.

The large clam on the bottom of the picture was alive. Those curly edges kept moving!

Watching anemones is so peaceful.

Of course, another obstacle to conquer.

They had a Bengal tiger exhibit. It is kind of weird to have tigers in an aquarium, but the lady there explained that since tigers really like water, it isn’t so odd for them to be in the aquarium.

Then we headed to Iron Sports Gym in Houston for a night of open gym. This is the gym where the competition will be held on Saturday. The kids wanted to get on the obstacles. They won’t know what the course will be until Saturday but it is nice to get familiar.

Got back to the state park at 11:15pm. They lock the gates at 10pm and give campers the combination to get in if they come after 10pm. We tried and tried but couldn’t open it. Called the after hours ranger who helped….gave us the new code that they change every Wednesday (it would’ve been nice to have that info beforehand..(0: ).
