Today we spent the day at Enchanted Rock. It is a huge granite dome.

This place is so massive….it is hard to describe with words.

Twinkle toes
It’s crazy but on top of these mammoth rocks, there are little areas of plants growing!

There were little tiny swimming creatures in this pool of water on top of the big rock.

Instead of a sand castle, Jeshuah built a rock castle.

This is called a rattlesnake bush….you can understand why when you hear it.
We stayed until sunset, which was very pretty. We didn’t have our phones to take pictures though because several of the kids were using them as flashlights in the secret cave they found and were crawling through. It was their third time through the cave passage. The first time they had a guide to help them through. A wonderful lady, Kim, was taking friends through the cave (she has been through many times herself). She heard that Donald and the kids wanted to go through and she graciously volunteered to act as their guide. God orchestrated that as they had no idea that the cave even went all the way through. Right place + right time + right person = event planned by God. Thank you so very much for sharing your time and yourself Kim!! You were truly a blessing to our family.
This particular cave was formed by the fallen rocks and is called a talus cave.
Suzie strained her knee on the last hike down so it took them a while to get her down from the mountain. Donald and the boys helped her walk and carried her about halfway down the mountain. A very kind man had passed us on the way down and had gone to his car to grab some supplies and came back up the trail to assist. He checked Suzie’s knee and gave her some cream to put on it and then wrapped some cold ice bottles around her knee with an ace wrap. We didn’t get his name but we thank him and the Lord for sending him to help. Thank you sir!!
We had planned to go out to eat much earlier than we ended up getting out of the park (it was Christmas Eve, mind you, and not much is open at 8pm). So we ended up at McDonald’s getting burgers and fries before heading back to the motor home.
