We had a nice sunny day here at Choke Canyon State Park.
The temperatures were around 70*. It was a nice day to be outside.
We started out for a hike and got sidetracked by the leaf-cutter ants right outside the motor home. I guess we always think of leaf-cutter ants out in a rain-forest somewhere in South America. We were quite surprised that they are right here in Texas.

We first saw their trails in the grass.

These were collecting leaves off a Red Oak tree.

You can see how the middle of the tree has been made bare.

This tree has been totally devoured.

Some mounds are HUGE!

This one actually chewed off a piece of Jeremiah’s skin!!
Josiah did a couple time-lapse videos that came out pretty good.
After about 45 minutes with the ants, we took a good, long hike. Found lots of chickweed along the way.

Always finding something to climb on.
When we don’t have a gym, the boys set one up in the campground. A few trees for a slack line and some posts for obstacles.

These deer came right up near Suzie while she was sitting at a picnic bench writing the blog.

You can see how close this buck is to our motor home.

We had spaghetti for supper.

Jeremiah had a little accident that required a butterfly on his forehead.
