Today we visited the Seven Sisters Oak Tree. This tree is estimated to be 1400-1500 years old.
Last time we were in Louisiana we sent a card to the owners of the property on which this tree sits. They contacted us and gave us permission to come visit it whenever we were back in the area.
So, today we got to go on the property and see the tree up close and personal.
There are no words adequate to describe it….it is massive, it is immense, it is grand and towering. Just standing under it leaves you speechless.

Here we are standing at the trunk.

The tree dwarfs the house; and it is a rather large house at that!

Here, seven of us are spaced apart along just one of the limbs (about 10 feet between each of us).

From the 2nd story porch of the house.

The root system is huge too!

Thanks to the Beckers for allowing us to come on to their property to experience their tree.
We then headed six hours east to Tallahassee, Florida. Back to visit our friends Bob and Kathy. We started out the trip at their place 5 months ago.
We got to meet their new Australian Shepherd puppy, Sadie. She is the cutest ball of fluff and energy!!
