Farmer’s Market, Doctor Appointment and Gator Camp

March 13, 2019

Suzie, Donald and Frank (Suzie’s brother) went to Sarasota for breakfast, We then went to the farmer’s market there in town and got donuts and a flat of strawberries.

The donuts were delicious. They have a food truck there at the farmer’s market and make them fresh.

Suzie had an orthopedic dr. appointment for her right knee. They took x-rays and told her that she had a small amount of arthritis in both knees and he gave her a cortisone shot in the right knee. She doesn’t think that was the problem as the pain is not in the knee joins but in the ligaments on both sides. She’ll see if the shot helps any. Right now it feels pretty good as she has been resting it and not doing anything strenuous with it.

We all then headed out to Gator Wilderness Camp for dinner. This is a camp for troubled boys. They live outside with counselors called “chiefs” while learning life skills to hopefully prepare them to better deal with life. Tonight was their party before going home for a week break. Lives are changed forever at this camp. These boys need Jesus and these chiefs in their lives are the hands and feet of Christ to hurting hearts.

Dinner was delicious fajitas. Then they had singing and sharing and a graduation for a chief whose time there was over (21 months) and he is moving on.

It was a very good day.
