Happy 18th birthday Jeremiah.

He is so happy to turn 18.

Know why?

He is now eligible to course test for American Ninja Warrior!

One of the reasons we came from out west back to Cincinnati this week was so that Jeremiah could do this on his 18th birthday. We couldn’t think of a better birthday present for this kid.

The weather didn’t cooperate much this day. We could tell on the way into the city that the skies didn’t look too promising.

 

Testing was supposed to start at 10 am but got pushed back to 1:30 pm by the rains. We were already in town when we received this information so we sat in the van in the parking garage while it rained. Then we killed time in the city when the rain stopped.

Also from the Kentucky side, you can see 4 bridges over the Ohio River. There are two more behind me.

 

Back in Cincinnati, we stopped to play in a park on the river’s edge.

 

 

This was a piano keyboard that played notes on the chimes above. Audrah is trying to play “Jesus Loves Me”.

Jeshuah and Jeremiah signing in for course testing. It was Jeremiah’s first official document as an 18 year-old. He had to show ID to get in. The guy checking it wished him a happy birthday.

 

The rain delayed testing all afternoon. The testers (and us spectators) had to take cover 4 different times. Testing went until 9pm. Jeshuah and Jeremiah only got to test one obstacle each. Can’t show you the obstacle with them on it but I can tell you that they both nailed it and didn’t get wet.(0:

We headed back to the campground for food and showers and bed. Since Jeshuah won’t be competing here in Cincinnati, the kids said they’d rather head over to North Carolina to UBW for Mike Cook’s giant Ninja competition/festival for the weekend. So we need to get to bed and head out for the 10 hour drive tomorrow.
