Jeshuah and Suzie went to town this morning to do laundry. On our way, we got to see the bison heard up near the fence so we grabbed a few pics.

Driving through Kansas….miles and miles and miles of grain fields.
We entered Colorado several hours later. Time zone changed so we’re now two hours behind EST.
Didn’t expect Colorado to be miles and miles of plains like Kansas.
We drove through a town called Punkin Center, elevation 5,264 feet.

It didn’t feel like we were up that high as the landscape was just miles and miles of plains.

Saw a storm rolling in, thought it looked pretty neat.

It wasn’t until we came to the eastern edge of Colorado Springs did the land change.

We did our first BLM camping. This is dry camping (no hook ups). Bureau of Land Management allows you to pull off the road and park in National Forests/Recreation areas. You have to be a full vehicle width off the road. We’ve never done this so it was a learning experience. The first spot we chose (by looking at Google satellite) was on a road that had too much traffic. So Suzie and the three big boys took the van and went driving around looking for a more remote spot. Took us about 45 minutes but we found one. So we pulled over, put down our feet and put out the slides and went to sleep.
