Today Donald and the kids are climbing the Manitou Incline with their former CollegePlus mentor Edward who lives in Colorado Springs.
Here they are walking through town to the incline. If you look at the mountain in the background, you can see the incline…it looks like a cleared path all the way up the mountain (right above their heads in the photo).

About to begin the ascent.

It’s a 2,744 step incline up a mountain. The trail is the remains of a funicular railway whose tracks washed out during a rock slide in 1990. At the base you begin at an elevation of 6,500 feet. The summit is at an elevation of 8,590 feet, that’s a gain of over 2,000 feet of elevation in less than one mile, making it quite a fitness challenge.
Made it!!

Afterwards, Suzie met them in town for pizza.

After lunch we decided to return to the Garden of the gods for some more scrambling on the rocks.

And of course, ninja stuff.
