Busy day today.
First we walked around Manitou Springs.

It is a quaint resort town.
This river snakes through town. At some houses, it flows under the driveway, at others, it flows through the front yard.

There are several natural mineral springs around town where you can fill your water jug, several of them the water is actually carbonated and is fizzy!
Iron Spring (you can tell the spring has a lot of iron by how red the basin is).

Navajo Spring

Stratton Spring

Twin Spring

Shoshone Spring

Cheyenne Spring

This cool store was once a bank. That’s why is is called the Vault.

Saw this really neat bear sculpture while walking around town. He looked and felt like pumice stone.

After several hours in town, we headed to Colorado Springs to Focus on the Family.

For any of you that grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey, we visited Whit’s End.

The actors that played Connie and Eugene.

They also have a kids’ play area. This cool slide actually goes outside and then back inside.

Focus on the Family also recorded the Narnia audio drama so they have a Narnia section here too.
The Wardrobe

After Focus on the Family, we headed to a place called Pulpit Rock. It’s a city park with some great scrambling rocks.
Gotta get some ninja practice in first. Monkey see…

Monkey do…

We met a dog named Kiera on the way up. (0:

It’s probably obvious why it is named Pulpit Rock by this photo.

Pretty good view from up here.

The three tiny people on the very top are Jeshuah, Jeremiah and Donald. Josiah texted back and forth with them to get them in the best spot to show up in the photo.

We watched a baseball game from up here too. Josiah could actually see the baseball!!

By now we were pretty hungry. We met Edward and Brittany for supper at the Skirted Heifer. It is called that because of the huge piece of cheese they put on the burger, it makes a skirt.

Edward was Jeshuah and Josiah’s mentor when they were working on their high school/college with CollegePlus.

After supper, we walked around Colorado Springs.

Not a bad view at the end of the road huh?

Our nephew Sam and Family live in the Springs. He works for Compassion international. He does trail biking thru that scenery. Rick’s brother Ron (Sam’s dad) bikes some with him when they visit. The whole family is off site seeing elsewhere this week
They are at Mesa Verde National park in Cortez CO.
I enjoyed your tour of all the different springs!
How nice you got to see Edward and meet his wife:-)
We’re headed to Mesa Verde tomorrow. (0:
