Arches National Park, Utah

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, June 12-14, 2019

We spent three days in Arches.

Fun facts about Arches:

Arches National Park is a United States National Park in eastern Utah.

The park has over 2,000 natural stone arches, in addition to hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive fins and giant balanced rocks.

It contains the highest density of natural arches in the world.

Arches National Park covers an area of 120 square miles.

Here is a taste of its beauty (there are a LOT of pics to follow).

We think that Arches is the best park so far for climbing and scrambling on rocks.

We had to walk along this long rock to get to one of the arches. It was part of the trail.

Note the snow capped mountains in the background.

We were so impressed by this young man. He hiked all the way up to Delicate Arch. It is a three mile moderately difficult hike. He did most of it himself. He just needed a hand here at this point as it was quite angled at the top.

Thought it was odd for the flower to grow on top of this rock.

Jeshuah, Josiah and Jeremiah scrambling up the rock.

Jeremiah doing a hand stand at Delicate Arch (not to worry, there was a platform about 16 foot across…he was in no danger of falling over the edge, although it does appear he could).

Taking a break from the heat.

Part of this trail goes over the rocks.

Come walk the trail with me…

Balanced Rock

Nice one with the snow-capped mountains in the background.

This is the longest arch, called Landscape.

Suzie liked this gnarly old tree.

Here are some neat natural hand-holds in the rock.

Magnificent views from on top of these rock formations.

Suzie thought this was an interesting photo….look at all the footprints representing all the people that walk through here.

We were playing around with perspective with these rocks. (0:
