Frank, Donald and Suzie went to breakfast this morning. We try once a week to go out to a new place in town where we haven’t yet had breakfast. This morning we visited Metro Diner. It gets a thumbs up.
Later in the day, Frank, Suzie and Nannie headed to Sarasota to visit the new Detwiler’s Farm Market. It started out as a small produce stand on the side of the road yearsd ago and has prospered to this.
This is something I’ve never seen before, white asparagus!
White asparagus is simply green asparagus that has never seen the light of day. The plant is grown under soil or some other covering to block out the sun’s rays, preventing photosynthesis and the development of chlorophyll, which turns the spears green.
Then in the evening, Josiah took Suzie out for dinner at Longhorn Steak House. He had promised to back before he left for Florida but it never happened.
Donald and Jeshuah went to see the late showing of the new Star Wars movie as they had missed seeing it with us the night they went hog hunting.
