In the afternoon, Kyrah, Audrah, Suzie and Josiah joined Suzie’s sister Sheri and her daughter Heather to process tomatoes.
Between the three of us, we bought 200 pounds of tomatoes. The growers here are having to plow under their crops because the demand for the produce is way down due to the closing of so many restaurants. These tomatoes sold for $5 for 25 lbs.!! Even dairy farmers are having to pour out TRUCKLOADS of milk onto the ground!! What a shame.
I made plain tomato sauce, Sheri made spaghetti sauce and Heather made pizza sauce.
Everyone lent their hands to many different tasks.

We didn’t process all 200 lbs. that day. It actually took three days to get it all canned. But we sure had fun doing it together.
