Iron Sports Competition Houston, Texas

December 8, 2018

Got up at 6am so we could get breakfast and pack the van for the day. Jedidiah’s competition started at 8am.

He did really well, in fact, he held the first place position for most of the competition. He only failed on one obstacle. Another boy did too and we weren’t sure who had run faster.

But, the last 3 competitors completed with no fails so that bumped him down to 5th. He was happy though and knew he had done well.

This isn’t his run, but a short video on an obstacle.

We had a pleasant surprise (well, we knew they were coming but hadn’t seen them since the last family reunion in 2015). Tami and son Joel came to the gym to visit and watch the competition!!

Then at 3:30 in the afternoon, Jeshuah and Jeremiah’s group ran. Jeshuah placed 3rd and Jeremiah 8th.

Then Donald’s group was last (masters 40+).

He placed 4th.

Then we went to a Christmas party!! Lisa, whom Donald used to work with at the power plant 5 or so years ago and now lives in Texas, invited us to her house for a Christmas party. She has a lovely home and was very hospitable. Thanks Lisa!!

We got back to the park at 1:15 in the morning. The park had held a race that day. 13, 26, 50 and 100 mile races!! Suzie ran into a gal in the restroom at 1am that had just finished the 50 mile race. It took her 17 hours!

Long day….going to sleep in tomorrow…er, today I guess.
