Mother Neff State Park

January 16, 2019

We took off today and did a two hour ride to Mother Neff State Park. Mother Neff was Texas’ first state park. It has been redone recently and has very nice camping pads. We have plenty of room for the motor home and the van.

We took an afternoon hike. It was overcast and drizzly.

Climbed up an old observation tower.

View from up top.

Of course it was an obstacle course too….

Suzie likes tree tunnels.

It is amazing how much the wild hogs dig up the ground.

The woods felt like we were in a Lord of the Rings Movie.

They have a bird watching area.

We came upon this stone table which reminded us of Narnia.

The creek was so peaceful sounding.

Cave area.

We saw a couple fossils in the cave.

More obstacles:

This looks to be a spring fed pool.

The reflection in the pool was neat.

Then we walked to the bluff area.

Headed back to the motor home for supper of leftovers and showers and finishing up school for the day.
