We were awaiting a package from Amazon with some roofing materials. It arrived fairly early Thursday morning so Donald and Jeshuah worked on sealing the roof before we headed out to Florida. We left around 3pm and drove all the way to St. Augustine!! We parked overnight at a Cracker Barrel restaurant.
Got up Friday morning and had breakfast in the restaurant.
After that, we headed to Deland to park at Uncle Kirk’s place.
Passed through the town where Donald’s grandpa had a barber shop.
We set up the motor home and then had lunch with Donald’s sister Shawn and her husband, Kirk at Pitmaster’s BBQ in Deland, FL.
Space X was having a launch at 3am on Saturday morning so Friday night we headed to Cape Canaveral to watch.
We parked at Fishlips at Jetty Park.
We had 5 hours to kill so we walked around the park.
There was a pier so we walked there too. There was a neat Blue Heron on the pier that allowed us to get pretty close.
The launch went off at 2:45am. It was very bright in the sky.
The rumble from the launch didn’t hit our spot until about 1 minute after the rocket launched.
By the time we arrived back at the RV it was 5am. We hit the sack and slept until about 10am.
