Hello Arkansas!

April 8, 2019

We had breakfast in Cracker Barrel and then headed out to Arkansas.

Sometimes we eat on the road, here we’re having sandwiches for lunch as we travel

We drove through Alabama, Mississippi and the very tip of Tennessee.

In Memphis we saw the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid. It has a restaurant, hotel and a whole lot more. We didn’t go in, just drove past. Look here to see what all is inside.

Soon after, we crossed the Mississippi and into Arkansas, our 27th state on this trip.

Our friends, Tom and Margi from NC (actually they are friends from Florida first, Donald worked with Tom at Lakeland Electric many years ago) were in Little Rock staying with Tom’s mom and planning a visit with an old high-school friend of Tom’s. They were free today for a visit from us. We parked the RV at a Walmart and unhooked the van to drive to see them. They were staying with his mom, Oza Mae, in an independent living facility. She is 89  years old and sharp as a tack. They showed us around the facility and fed us Red Velvet cake. YUM.

We had a nice time catching up. When it was time to head out, Margi asked us to go out to supper with them. She wanted to go to a restaurant “with tablecloths”. (0:

We went to Cantina Laredo. Food was very good and the company was even better. Thanks Margi and Tom!!

We left there at around 9pm and had another 2 hours to our campsite at Crater of Diamonds State Park.

We finally got to bed around 12:30am.

  1. Looks like an amazing visit! Hope I look like that and am as mobile as that when I’m almost 990! Can’t wait to see y’all!
