We are staying in a campground with an elevation is about 1,000 ft. That’s a huge difference from the Sequoia forest’s 5,000-7,000 ft. elevation. Which means that the temperature difference can be 30* from the ground to the forest.
We watched a group of mating woodpeckers at the campground. Usually woodpeckers are solitary so this was a first for us.
We headed back up to the Sequoia Forest. Today was different, it was definitely colder than yesterday, 38* and it was overcast and foggy. Much different than the sunny day yesterday. It felt kind of Lord of the Ringish.

How many kids can you fit in a Sequoia stump?

How’s that for perspective?

Fog rolling in at the meadow.

This is what a Sequoia sapling looks like.

These have really nice tops.

We ended up deep in the forest as the trail was a bit obscured by the fallen snow. We hiked for 1.5 hours in an area with no other hikers.

And of course, a ninja hand hold on a Sequoia.

So awesome…what a huge life you are living with your children. Blessings dear friends!
