Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument

Another day looking at Cliff Dwellings. Today it was at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument in New Mexico.

These cliff dwellings are hidden back in the Gila National Forest. Agave trees abound here in New Mexico.

 

We drove for about an hour in the forest before we came upon the dwellings. TheĀ Mogollon people group lived here. The Gila Rivers runs through this canyon. Geronimo was born here.

 

 

 

 

Phew, good thing this water fountain is connected to good water, imagine if it wasn’t!!
