Spending another day checking out the talus caves at Pinnacles. There is another cave on the other side of the park. Unfortunately, Pinnacles does not have a road that goes through the park. So you either have to drive two hours around the park to the opposite entrance or hike through the park to get to the cave. We chose to do the 5 mile round trip hike.

It was a pretty hike.

Going in. This cave had more rocks that we had to climb up and over.

And under…

Come walk with me…
The size of these boulders is staggering!!

I tried not to think about earthquakes and such dislodging these enormous boulders!

Shudder!!

Met a snake on the trail.

A tarantula crossing the road. Donald put down the $5 bill to show size comparison.

Curious thing we saw…woodpeckers making holes in the pine trees and then flying back with acorns and stuffing them into the holes in the tree!

on the trail

Red tree…

Jed hanging off red tree…

Sun was starting to set…

Did I mention that there were some really big rocks at this park!?!?!

Saw a flock of quail on the road on the way back to the motor home.
