Took a hike today up to a waterfall.

Walking through the desert.

The water in the desert creates these oasis.

Come walk with me…

Darwin Falls

Further in and further up…

Can you see Donald?

Found some large bird nests

Donald, Jeshuah and Jeremiah climbed up the rocks, found an Indian trail and found the rest of the Darwin Waterfall.

View from above.

I found a rock that has the same pattern as the waterfall.

We had some time to go take a look at Ubehebe Crater.

From WIKI:

Ubehebe Crater (pronounced YOO-bee-HEE-bee) is located at the north tip of the Cottonwood Mountains. The crater is half a mile (one kilometer) wide and 500 to 777 feet (150 to 237 m) deep. The age of the crater is estimated from 2,000 to 7,000 years old.[1]

In 2012, new evidence suggested that the crater may be as young as 800 years old, although this estimation was a lower bound, and it’s still possible the crater is much older than that.

Jeshuah, Jeremiah and Jedidiah hiked down into the crater (can you spot them?)

Donald and us girls hiked the rim trail.

Caught the moonrise over the crater.
