Last day of November

November 30, 2018

Today we head for Texas!!

Before leaving Louisiana, there was a church down the road from our campground that we wanted to visit.

St. Michael’s Church/Lourdes Grotto.

The grotto was made of bagasse, the dry pulpy residue left after the extraction of juice from sugar cane. It hardened like a rock.

We then rode through the graveyard behind the church.

We loaded up the RV, pulled in the slides, unhooked from water and electricity, dumped the sewer, strapped the van into the trailer and were off to Texas.

Hello Texas!!

Yes, you see that correctly, exit 880!!! That means there are 880 miles to get to the other side of this state!!!

We stopped at the Texas welcome center.

They had a boardwalk out back. Donald and the kids witnessed a pair of mating eagles.

Good thing this snapper isn’t real.

We parked for the night in a Cabela’s parking lot. Tomorrow’s plans: Houston Space Center.
