Today got up to 78* and was sunny. We saw the weather forecast and decided it was a swimming day.
First we headed to Blue Hole Regional Park on the Cypress Creek. Couldn’t swim there but it was very pretty.

Thought these roots were rather interesting.

The water was so clear!!

While there, we talked to a lady that who told us that the head of the creek was at Jacob’s Well. So we drove there, we couldn’t swim there either but the kids dangled their feet in the water. Park rangers told us about another place where swimming was allowed so we went there.

Saw this cactus there.

Rio Vista @ San Marcos was a great suggestion. Everyone but Suzie got in the water (she’s fighting a virus so wasn’t feeling quite up to the activities).

We took a drive to Texas State University where the San Marcos river runs through Sewell Park on the campus.

Found ninja obstacles there too!!
Got pretty torn up from the concrete.

After all that swimming and shivering, we needed to eat.
We had good burgers at a Bowling Alley Cafe near the campgrounds called Blanco Bowling Alley and Cafe. They play a German version of bowling called Nine Pins. Eight pins are set up around the #9 pin. The object is to knock down pins #1-8 before knocking down #9. You also play as a team and not against each other. Click here for a short video on how it is played. We didn’t get to play but we did eat supper at the cafe.

We did a couple loads of laundry at the laundromat a block away and walked through town to look at Christmas lights while the clothes washed.

You guys are really taking it all in . I’m so happy for you, Merry Christmas from all of us here in North Carolina, we love you all so much
That swimming hole at Rio Vista looks awesome! I’d live to get taken with the mini waterfall like Don!
Don’t think I’ve seen water that clear.!
