Today was full, we did 4 different parks today!
We started off by visiting the pueblos in the state park in which we were staying, Homolovi State Park. This state park was founded to preserve a series of Ancestral Hopi sites located along the Little Colorado River.

Petroglyphs are here as well.

We packed up the motor home and headed west. We have reservations this evening in the Grand Canyon but there are several places along the way we’d like to stop and see.
First is Meteor Crater.
This place is pretty cool. It’s a crater out in the middle of a pasture. As you approach, you can see the rim all pushed up.

Once inside, you can see how deep this crater is.

There is one piece of meteor that survived the crash. It was found in a pasture, it’s about 3 feet long and weighs over 1,400 pounds!

Of course, there was somewhere to hang…

and jump
We left there to head to Walnut Canyon. Here we followed a trail, seeing the cliff dwellings of the Indians that lived here in the past. It’s got a depth of about 400 ft. The dwellings in the sides of the canyons are amazing. Even more amazing is thinking about how the people lived here on these cliffs.

This place had a pretty good echo too…
Join me on a little walk on the trail.
Lastly, we arrived at our campground in the Grand Canyon National Forest. we arrived just in time to catch the end of the sunset.

Stupendous! Thank you.
