Monahan Sandhills State Park, Texas

Happy 21st birthday Jeshuah!! We had apple pie a few days ago in celebration. Tonight he said that it was his shortest birthday ever….we crossed a time zone coming from New Mexico to Texas today so he lost an hour of the day.(0:

We’ve been playing bananagrams lately.

Good spelling practice

We drove to Monahan Sandhills State Park today. More dunes!!

Unfortunately, these dunes were not as slippery as the ones at White Sands. These are comprised of silica sand which is more course and not as slippery.

Here is the motor home parked in our space. It appears that we are stuck in the sand from this angle.

Still fun to play in

Swimming in the sand

This was neat; watching the sand kind of avalanche down the hill

Racing up a dune

Come walk with me…

Had a moon rise at the same time the sun was setting.

Yes, flowers can grow in the sand!

  1. Awesome to see the sun set and moon rise from such a vantage point! Amazing how the wind can change an area of sand!
