Friday thru Sunday, August 30-Sept. 2. 2019
Friday morning, Jeremiah and Suzie headed to a nearby community college campus for him to take another CLEP test. He passed!! Getting closer to his high school diploma as well as collecting college credits.
Competition starts this afternoon, something new for UBW. The popularity of the competition brings more and more competitors. So, starting a wave on Friday helped keep Saturday from running into the wee hours of the morning (as has happened in the past).
Jed, Audrah, Jeremiah and Jeshuah all ran on Friday.
Grand Champion gets money and this car!
Jed and Audrah didn’t get in the top 50% of competitors to move on to the next level. So they were out of the running but free to play all weekend.
Here is a little of each of their runs.
Audrah
Jedidiah
Jeshuah and Jeremiah did well on the first stage placing 9th and 10th out of 125 male competitors (they’ll upload their runs in a few days to Youtube).
Josiah and Donald were judges and timers.
I love this one of Josiah really taking his job seriously.

Kyrah volunteered in the merchandise tent the whole weekend and Suzie and Jennifer rounded up ninjas (which can be a lot of work(0: ).
Ninjatron showed up too!

Saturday
More of outdoor stage one runs all day. Stage 2 runs ran simultaneously in the gym.
Bringing in more padding for stage 2.

Jed hanging out with his chess buddy.

Kyrah got a rip!

Both Jeshuah and Jeremiah did well enough on stage two to go on to stage three tomorrow.
Sunday
Ninja Church in the morning. Kyrah got re-baptized.
Crane going up…for the 100 foot rope climb later today (females have to go 80 ft.)..

In order to be able to go on to stage 4, the rope climb, the competitors have to clear the Crow’s Nest obstacle on stage 3. Mike Cook came up with this obstacle a few weeks ago…no one was happy to see it.(0:
Jeremiah ran before Jeshuah. He got to the obstacle in time but he couldn’t complete it, he has hyper-hydrosis, which means he sweats excessively, especially his hands, and he wound up sliding off the third pole.
There was an extra incentive thrown in on Friday before the competition started. $25,000 was offered to the person who completed all 4 stages with no fails (and no use of their one Mulligan). Up to the start of stage three, there were three men that had perfect runs. Jeshuah being one of them.
The three of them were the last runners of stage 3. Ernest, the one furthest away in the photo, ran first, then Jeshuah and then RJ.
Here they are giving a triple fist bump to each other.

Jeshuah made it the furthest of the three, but missed the $25,000 by missing ONE obstacle!!
Here he is practicing that obstacle earlier in the day.
It’s an obstacle that no one has ever cleared in a competition so far at UBW. But it did mean that he got to stage 4, the rope climb.
He taped his toes this time to try to keep them from shredding on the rope. It worked.

Last time:

But he climbed 8 seconds slower than the last competition on Memorial Day weekend. So, he ended up in 2nd place. 1st place was Jake Murray, who also took first place on Memorial Day weekend.

It was a fun weekend as always. Thanks Mike and Andy and all the volunteers and ninjas that help make it happen!
Jeremiah had some fun getting revenge on the obstacle that took him out. He posted this on FB and Instagram and got a LOT of likes, especially from other ninjas that got taken out by the obstacle.
wow! What an action packed weekend!!! Jeshuah – ALMOST!!! 4 seconds !! Unbelievable!! You did awesome:-). Proud Nannie of everyone’s accomplishments
