Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! We’re spending the day in Big Bend.
Donald and the kids headed into Big Bend to climb to the tallest peak…Emory Peak. It is a 10 mile out and back hike. The elevation at the top is 7,825 ft.
The younger ones could earn a badge from the ranger station if they completed the hike. Kyrah really wanted it so Donald said he’d help make it happen by taking them. Everyone went but Suzie and Jeremiah. Suzie stayed behind to work on Thanksgiving dinner for everyone and Jeremiah got some school work completed.

Deer

Looks like all the tree’s leaves dropped at once making a carpeted effect.

Getting closer

Made it to the top!!

There are different kinds of monitoring equipment up at the top along with solar power for them.

You can hear how windy it was up there!

Then they had the 5.3 mile hike back down! When they got to the bottom, they drove back to the hot spring and hung out there for several hours soothing their sore muscles in the hot water before heading back to the motor home for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanks for the week of catch up. I love the sights and sounds of the times…you guys are the best! God’s creation is awesome!
