There is a ninja competition down in Mission, Texas this coming weekend so we left today to head south.
We saw these flare stacks as we were driving along today and from our campground. They look pretty neat. Like giant torches coming up out of the ground.

We have left the Hill Country of Texas and are now in the Plains.
We stopped halfway at a Choke Canyon State Park. We’re staying on a peninsula. Here’s the view out of our front window.

There are deer everywhere!
We took a drive around the park before dinner (weather is still rainy and cold). Saw more big bucks that we ever have!

Suzie made Philly cheese steak sandwiches for dinner. There were no leftovers.
We’re leaving tomorrow to head the rest of the way. Competition is on Saturday. We are staying down there for 5 days as the weather is looking really nice, in the upper 70’s and lower 80’s!
The RV park we’ll be staying at has a pool so we may even be pulling out our swimsuits!!
Happy New Year and enjoy the warm weather down in big ☆ state
