Glacier National Park Day 2

Thursday, September 26, 2019

We woke up to the sound of rain pattering on the rooftop. We went to the visitor’s center to turn in the Junior Ranger books for badges.

The rangers showed us where to visit on the west side of the park today.

We drove around in the sprinkling rain and stopped at some pull off spots for quick photos.

It was overcast and misty today and the clouds were hanging around the mountain tops.

We took a 2.5 hour hike alongside the river on the opposite side from the road.

Come walk with me…

We walked along the river’s edge for a while.

Then we turned into the forest. Felt like we were in a Lord of The Rings movie.

Back to the river

Back into the forest, come walk with me…

Saw a doe and her yearling

Crazy looking mushrooms

Enormous cedar trees

Back to the river’s edge. We turned around and headed back the way we came.

Everywhere you look, you see the evidence of The Creator.

The sun peeked through the clouds.

After the hike, we drove over to Lake McDonald.

The water is so blue.

Rocks = obstacles(0:

Mr. Antifreeze had to get in the water.(0:

This lake has blue and purple rocks!

How many rocks til it falls?

Got antlers?

We stopped at a little cafe in the park for burgers.

Closing in on sunset

Tomorrow we head west towards Mt. Saint Helen.
